2020年ACT考试重大变革！拼分单科、重考、纸笔、机考随意选!

　　重磅消息，与SAT齐名的“美国高考”ACT(American College Testing)于2019年10月8日宣布对ACT考试进行评分改革，并将于2020年9月生效。具体政策跟随兆龙留学小编一起来看看。

　　ACT announced scoring reforms on its ACT exam today. The changes are effective September 2020. They will allow test takers:

　　Who have already taken the full ACT to retake only a part of the exam (English, math, reading, science or writing).

　　To decide whether to take the test online or on paper.

　　To use "superscoring" in which they combine scores from multiple ACT tests.

　　● 已经参加过完整ACT考试的学生，可以参加单科目考试(英语，数学，阅读，科学或写作)重考;

　　● 可以选择在线考试或纸笔考试;

　　● 启用“超级拼分”将支持多次ACT考试的分数组合。

　　ACT昨日宣布计划推出三种新选择，以改善学生的考试经历并增加他们的大学入学和奖学金机会。

　　ACT首席商务官Suzana Delanghe表示：“学生是ACT考试的重点，这些开创性的新选择将直接使他们受益，提供更多的选择，更好的测试体验以及更好的机会展示他们的准备并发挥最大的潜力。”“随着这些变化，ACT正在不断发展，以满足他们所生活的数字世界中的学生。我们希望更好地帮助他们取得成功。”

　　明年考ACT的时候可以进行的三组不同的选择。

　　选择一 单项重考

　　ACT Section Retesting

　　Students can concentrate their efforts.

　　ACT Section Retesting helps students focus study efforts on individual subjects that are part of the ACT test (English, math, reading, science, or writing) without having to study for the entire test again. ACT Section Retesting is available to all students who have taken the full ACT test. Students can retake one or more single-section subject tests at approved ACT test centers across the US, to improve their scores.

　　考生可以选择ACT五门科目中(英语，数学，阅读，科学和写作)的其中一项或多项进行重考，所考内容和单项时间和之前并无差别;

　　重考的前提是必须已经参加过完整的ACT考试;

　　官方一年提供七次重考，单项重考时间和常规ACT考试日期相同;

　　考生单项重考的次数无限制;

　　一次最多只能重考三门科目;

　　目前单项重考只有机考;

　　Tips：现只有在美国，美国领土和波多黎各的ACT全国考试日中可以参加单科重考。

　　选择二 最高单项拼分

　　ACT Superscoring

　　官网原文摘选：

　　Students can strengthen their ACT score by improving individual section scores.

　　To support the growing trend of students taking the ACT test multiple times, score report options will now provide the option for students to send their best ACT test results to colleges and include a calculated ACT Superscore. Superscoring allows students to submit their highest scores for college admission and scholarship purposes. The Superscore is a recalculation which shows the highest possible composite score across multiple ACT tests and ACT Section Retests. It reflects the average of the four best subject scores from each of the student's ACT test attempts.

　　Superscore官方算法展示：

　　选取考生的四科最高分：英语22，数学23，阅读23，科学22

　　相加：22+23+23+22=90

　　总和除以四：90÷4=22.5

　　四舍五入取整数：23

　　故该考生的ACT superscore为23分

 

　　这个Superscore就类似于我们熟悉的拼分，考生可以在申请大学和奖学金的时候递交单项最高成绩。但并不是所有大学都能接受ACT拼分，尽管ACT官方反复强调他们的superscoring是“predictive – if not more predictive – of first-year grades as other scoring methods”，拼分+单科重考这个组合，还是很值得期待的。

　　选择三 机考笔试自由选择

　　Faster Results with Online Testing

　　Students will get to choose between online testing and paper testing.

　　Online ACT Testing will allow ACT’s testing experience to better align with how today’s students often prefer to learn and the mode they prefer for testing. Starting in September 2020, students will be able to choose to take the ACT test online or with paper. Giving students a choice allows them to focus on what’s most important: doing their best on the test. Students who take the test online will get faster test results. In fact, students will receive their multiple-choice test scores and ACT Composite score as early as two business days after the test date. This allows students to make better, more informed, and timely decisions about the schools and scholarships to which they apply.

　　机考的成绩报考可以在考试后2个工作日获得，而纸考则一般需要等待2-8周的时间。更快的出分速度对于考生的心情，上课安排，考试规划和申请进度等来说无疑是一大利好。

　　官方目前不会取消纸考，也不会强制考生选择机考或者笔试。大学不会知道考生的ACT分数是来自于机考还是纸考。
